About This Opportunity
As the HVAC Service Technician, you will install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment, along with identifying maintenance risks on equipment. The HVAC Technician will undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of HVAC systems at Rockford Construction commercial and residential properties. A Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail with a focus on "Safety First". The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines at all times. You will successfully complete general maintenance and emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service to property tenants. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Requirements
A minimum of 2 years working as an HVAC technician, and willing to continue education in the HVAC field.
High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
Working knowledge of boiler systems.
Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Travel limited to downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the facility maintenance field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to order parts/equipment and coordinate and supervise vendors as needed to complete the repair.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills and management of multiple tasks at once.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 365.
Bonus Skills and Experience:
EPA-II Required
Certifications such as HVAC, Building Maintenance Technology, First Aid and CPR.
Some general facility/building maintenance preferred.
Residential and commercial HVAC experience. (RTUs, Split-systems, heat-pumps, etc)

Environmental Factors
The work environment for this position is a mix of a typical office environment, and visits to properties. Visits to properties may involve travel. The physical demands may require frequent lifting of 50 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. The individual may also be subject to hazards commonly associated with construction including high temperatures, humidity, cold temperatures, and climbing stairs and ladders. Other examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subject to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Use of mobile equipment and power tools will be frequent. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including proper footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest and/or other special clothing shall be worn when required.
