Description
The Director, Vendor Management works as liaison between vendors and organization. The Director, Vendor Management requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
Responsibilities
The Director, Vendor Management reviews and negotiates terms of vendor contracts and communicates with vendors regarding day-to-day matters. Builds and maintains positive relationship with vendors and monitor vendor performance. Researches invoice and contractual issues and resolve discrepancies. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy. Ensures vendors meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Accountable for vendor budget and maintenance of operational expenses. Accountable for vendor savings for mature programs to ensure healthy ROI. Will require strong leadership skills with oversight of 7+ vendors and 10+ associates.

Performance Management
Day-to-day productivity oversight to include hiring, training and assuring performance metrics are being met
Publishes monthly KPIs and performance against budget
Orchestrates quarterly business reviews with stakeholders
Quality oversight to include any compliance audit and any necessary corrective actions
Internal subject matter expert to ensure appropriate teams are informed and engaged
Facilitate regular vendor capability meetings
Contract oversight to assure service level agreements are being met and are being reviewing regularly. Will facilitate contract amendments.
Works with finance to develop an annual budget
Must haves
Bachelor's degree in finance/business or related field
Five or more years of management experience
Progressive operational experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong facilitation skills
Nice to Have
MBA
Certification with Six Sigma and/or the Project Management Institute
Prior experience in a healthcare or insurance setting
Grievance and Appeals experience
