HELP WANTED FULL-TIME BOOKKEEPER /ACCOUNTANT
Wells Equipment Sales is a family owned business, located in Litchfield, MI for over 70 years. We are a Case IH dealership and also carry other brands of equipment. We sell and service all varieties of tractors, farm, and outdoor power equipment. We are 25 miles north of the Indiana/Ohio border in South Central Michigan. We are currently seeking to hire a full-time, long-term employee for our bookkeeper/accountant position. Knowledge of agriculture and outdoor power equipment is helpful, but not required.
JOB SUMMARY
The bookkeeper/accountant will have the ability to perform a wide variety of bookkeeping tasks and broad knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Also, general ledger and journal entries, and financial reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*Education in finance or accounting preferred.
*Previous general bookkeeping/ accounting experience preferred.
*Basic computer skills.
*Must maintain confidentiality.
*Ability to be a self-starter and work without direct supervision.
*Able to stoop, bend, and reach to file and retrieve data.
*Able to work with others and be a team player.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*Ability to understand workflows, processes, and systems.
*Ability to arrange workload to meet deadlines.
*Daily reconciliation of cash, post, and file.
*Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts monthly.
*Resolve any discrepancies.
*Prepare payroll and remit all payroll taxes weekly. Monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
*Prepare monthly customer statements.
*Process and reconcile billings for payments.
*Sales/use tax reporting and reconciliations.
*Assist outside CPA with annual tax returns,federal and state deposits.
*Prepare interim settlements upon completion of all sales.
*Other duties as assigned.
BENEFITS & HOURS
We offer a highly competitive wage and benefit package which will be discussed during the interview. Work hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and occasional Saturdays if month end. Overtime as needed. Closed on major holidays.
