ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Minimum high school diploma. Associates degree preferred. Two to three years retail experience required. Is required to frequently reach, bend, and lift (between floor and above head) a variety of weights. On occasions, there is a demand for extreme physical efforts for short periods of time. Must be able to work under time pressures with interruptions, set priorities, be very accurate and detailed, use good judgment skills, and have good verbal and listening skills. ORGANIZATION Reports to and works under the direction of the Manager of Volunteer Services. SPECIFIC DUTIES 1. Insure that the Gift Shop remains open during posted hours. Hours are subject to change based upon customer and staff needs. 2. Trains Gift Shop Staff in cash handling, customer service techniques, inventory ordering and other related functions. Also required to set and maintain volunteer scheduling. 3. Ensure that shop is kept clean and maintenance of fixtures is maintained. 4. Process merchandise, dealing with vendors on billing, credits, pricing and inventory control. 5. Stock "received" items in proper location, rotating stock, and noting expiration dates, lot numbers, or "tracked" items where applicable; opening and removing cartons when needed. This entails normal scheduled deliveries, rush deliveries, in-house deliveries, and deliveries to off-site buildings. 6. Price all merchandise with ticketing procedure. 7. Must be able to set up and keep inventory controls of Stockroom. Get Stockroom ready for company inventories. All items ticketed and organized by item, price, etc 8. Immediately notify Manager on any product concerns such as: Low or out of stock. Increased usage due to special store needs. Damaged stock Theft and underages 9. Works with outside vendors in order to analyze existing product lines to determine proper mix of goods and services to provide the Hospital's customers. 10. Resolves customer complaints regarding merchandise received and/or customer service issues regarding Gift Shop Staff. 11. Actively participates on any appropriate System-wide and Hospital committees (such as quarterly System Gift Shop Manager Meetings, etc.) 12. Participates in the planning of special sales functions, such as Lobby Sales, and other fund raising activities held outside of the Gift Shop 13. May be required to work hours other than those scheduled, including nights, weekends and/or Holidays. 14. Communicates with Accounts Payable in order to resolve timely payments of vendors invoices in order to maximize purchase discounts 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
