Summary
About the Position: This position is a Watch Commander (Patrol Supervisor) on any shift for the Directorate of Emergency Services, Police/ Provost Marshall Division.
Responsibilities
Serve as Police Station Commander (Duty Officer) during on duty hours/days and is responsible for all security force related functions that occur during their shift(tour of duty).
Perform police officer duties independently or as a team member to maintain installation discipline, law and order.
Direct activities for services that are performed by the Police Patrols and Security Guards.
Coordinate support of local police units for incidents requiring their assistance during incumbent's tour of duty.
Oversee the police station operations and communication center Intrusion Detection Monitoring System.
Responsible for insuring all shift related reports for duty period are prepared and cover all incidents that took place.
Responsible to insure installation gates and facilities are secured in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
Ensure adequate manpower is available to properly police the installation.
Conduct announced and unannounced post inspections.
Review completed work of shift members for accuracy and compliance with instructions and regulatory requirements.
Complete formal and informal performance appraisals of shift members.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes experience applying local laws and state and federal statutes. Conducting law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques that have involved the responsibility of maintaining order and protecting life and property. Experience entering and extracting data from Federal, State and local vehicle and crime information automated systems, such as, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN). Usage of these automated systems to do research and generate reports. Apply investigative methods and techniques to investigate violations or reports of probable incidents within assigned jurisdictions; create statistical data reports; able to give detailed narrative reports. Knowledge of leadership skills. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. One-year Supervisory probation period required.
