Job Posting – Administrative Assistant

Do you love downtown Ferndale? If so, then we are looking for you! We have a new, full-time, Administrative Assistant position available with the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority (DDA). Our goal is to cultivate an environment in downtown Ferndale that provides a unique experience for residents and visitors.
General Job Description:
The DDA Administrative Assistant will be responsible for several day-to-day duties which may include answering phones and responding to general inquiries, updating social media and website info, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and filing and organization. Other duties may include recruiting volunteers, providing staff support for volunteer committees, and assisting with event planning and coordination (This is not intended to be an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of job duties and responsibilities).

Compensation & Work Hours/Environment
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with the Ferndale DDA and includes a similar benefit package as City of Ferndale Employees. There is a retirement plan (with contribution by employee required), paid personal time off, paid holidays, and a comprehensive health benefits package included. Starting annual salary will be $34,000+/- depending on qualifications and experience.
General operating hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, however, some work hours will be in the evenings and on weekends and flex-scheduling is provided to accommodate. Most time is spent in an office environment. Occasional travel is required to businesses throughout the community or to off-site locations as needed. The person in this position is required to work outdoors for certain events or projects which may be in hot, cold, or inclement weather.
