Unarmed Security Guard for federal prison inmates receiving Medical Treatement.
Pass NCIC/NLETS clearance and Employment Screening process
Be able to deal with the general public
Be able to maintain poise under stressful situations
Able to respond professionally and appropriately to emergency situation, (training provided)
Be able to write and print English legibly
Speak English Fluently
Possess a high school diploma, or equivalency
One year (2040 hours) of experience in the Armed Forces or Coast Guard which involved significant performance of guard duty of detainees or prisoners; or the equivalent experience in a Federal, State, or local government or private organization which involved protecting/police duties
College level training in courses such as corrections or police science may be substituted for experience at the ration of two hours of instruction for one hour of experience
Be in good general health and able to perform job functions.
Vision must be correctable to 20/30 (snellen) in one eye. The ability to distinguish basic colors is required.
Emotional and mental stability are essential. The services to be performed require the ability to tactfully deal with inmates, a keen sense of perception, mental alertness, and the ability to resolve crisis situations.
Applicants may be required to work under trying conditions for long periods of time without relief.
TRAINING (COMPLETE REQUIRED TRAINING)
Complete and pass all required Training
Proper Bureau Techniques for Guarding Inmates
Use and Application of Restraints,
Use of Force
Additional Requirements: Reliable Transportation, Cell Phone, On-call availability (min. of 2 hrs. notice)
