• Position PurposeThe Loan Underwriter is responsible for protecting the assets of Vibe Credit Union through sound loan decisions.

Essential Duties

• Reviews member's applications and credit reports.

• Underwrite direct/indirect consumer loans including personal, auto, signature, home equity and credit cards in accordance with Credit Union policy.

• Collaborate effectively with branch personnel, loan specialists, and other underwriters to ensure that loan application information is accurate and fully complete.

• Review member account relationships with Vibe Credit Union and suggest additional loan products when applicable.

• Approve/deny consumer loans within authorized limits and communicate decisions to loan specialists, branch personnel and/or member(s).

• Serve as a resource on consumer loan products/services of the Credit Union; respond to internal and external loan related member questions and research.

• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent job experience

• Thorough knowledge of member services and products

• One to three years of related experience

Skills/Abilities

• Strong organizational skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication

• Ability to multi-task

• Works well under pressure in a busy work environment

• Must be able to correspond effectively with lending staff
