Summary:
Responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions, focusing on identifying early warning of potential financial and control issues. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process, monthly preparation of a reforecast, and annual preparation of a budget, and ensure the safeguarding of company assets. The Corporate Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Preparation of annual budget
Coordinate the quarterly and year-end audit with the external auditors
Implement a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of profit centers
Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes
Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances
Preparation of monthly reforecast incorporating historical results and future assumptions
Participate on the Company's pension committee
Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Accurate and timely production of all financial information
Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
Ability to work overtime
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages four subordinate supervisor positions who directly supervise a total of four employees in the Accounting Department and Financial Reporting Department.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from fouryear college or university and eight (8) to nine (9) years' related work experience.
5+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector with a strong manufacturing background with related experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
Skills and Abilities
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills - Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
C.P.A. is preferred but not required.

This position requires a low degree of physical effort. Frequent travel for business purposes is required for this position, including international travel.
Work Environment
The potential for accidents or health hazards in this position is minimal. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
