Journeyman Maintenance Electrician
Cement company (grinds raw materials into cement dust using conveyors, grinding machines, etc.)
Maintain the plant electrical equipment and system using the principles of predictive and preventive maintenance
Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams
Test and install single and three phase motors and motor starters
Maintain and troubleshoot MCC’s (motor control centers)
Install, replace, and trouble shoot and repair electrical circuits and programmable logic controls
Access work orders, work instructions, drawings and documents. Update completed work orders.
Maintain and trouble shoot high voltage switchgear and controls
Troubleshoot primary distribution system
Dismantle, disconnect and replace electrical defective electrical components equipment (Armature brushes, solenoids etc.)
Repair and replace transformers, and lighting fixtures
Promote environmental and safety awareness in alignment with safety and environmental goals
Work alone or with minimal supervision
Conduct routine planned work observations
Must have at least four years’ experience as an Electrician Journeyman.
Knowledge of low, medium and high voltage applications.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC controllers (hardware)
Prefer heavy industry experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Journeyman Electrician Card required.
Steel Worker Union Facility
Summer: 5 AM - 1 PM OR 10 AM - 630 PM .
Winter (Dec to May): 7 AM - 3:30PM OR 10 AM - 630 PM
The new electrician can be put on one of those shifts depending on what is needed.
Must be available for on-call work in evenings and weekends.
But, there are 3 other Electricians and the on-call rotates per incident to each person - so it's infrequent.
When called in the employee receives a minimum of 4 hours of Double Time pay no matter if it took 10 minutes to solve the problem.
Pay rate: $35.15 per hour
Direct Hire Position
Blue Cross / Blue Shield Medical: Employee: $29.64/week, Couple: $56.32/week, Family: $88.92/week
