YOUR MISSION:
Responsible for planning, purchasing, and expediting materials to support the requirements and specifications of the Company. Other responsibilities include supplier problem solving and monitoring of supplier delivery.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Takes the appropriate action to ensure product arrives as required where shortages are identified.
Prioritizes receiving schedule at warehouse so customer requirements can be met.
Negotiates with factories to resolve sales and production issues. Instructs factory to expedite or delay shipments in order to manage target inventory levels.
Identifies process improvements related to current or potential procedures. Once identified, works to put action plans together and brings ideas to fruition.
Maintains inventory levels based on management and budget guidelines.
Monitors factory confirmations and shipments. Reviews factory monitor, MNET monitor, and in-transit reports to ensure data integrity.
Evaluates MRP results and responds appropriately to meet inventory requirements.
Interprets and evaluates the customer's forecast and usage; applies data to purchasing system appropriately.
May participate in analyzing factory performance using the appropriate rating system.
Expedites deliveries and conducts follow-ups when necessary.
Resolves purchase order differences and pricing problems with factories.
Resolves payment problems with factories.
Responsible for tracing inbound freight; Resolves delivery/receiving problems.
Develops and manages effective relationships with factories and internal departments.
May be asked to monitor and delegate work to MRP department staff.
Facilitates, communicates, and supports sales personnel, business unit managers, factory, customer requirements, and accounting.
MUST-HAVES:
High school diploma, six (6) years related experience; or Associated Degree in a related field, five (5) years related experience; or Bachelor's Degree in a related field, four (4) years related experience.
Experience includes two (2) years sales administration, sales operations, inside sales, materials planning, or purchasing and two (2) years in automotive or related manufacturing organizations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical data
Understanding of customer forecast systems and internal purchasing/sales/inventory systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows based databases as appropriate to the position and assignment.
