JOB OVERVIEW
Define and execute the product strategy of TE Connectivity's automotive sensors product line. Manage the product portfolio, roadmap and P&L, driving improvement plans externally to gain market share and internally to improve profitability. Project Manage programs from initial concept at Gate 1 until project is approved at Gate 3. Work with customers to develop milestones and timing and with the internal teams to meet these milestones.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities:
* Understands the marketplace of assigned product lines, stays current on customer needs, the competitive landscape, macroeconomic trends and potential M&A.
* Define and lead execution of both a short-term strategy to capture current market/revenue growth opportunities as well as input into the 5 - 10-year strategic vision for the product line.
* Manage the product portfolio to streamline TE offering, taking advantage of market opportunities and improving margins.
* Forecast and track sales and profits, proactively addressing issues and implementing actions to ensure revenue and margin target achievements.
* Prepare business cases for new product projects and advocate on behalf of customers in the Project Approval Committee.
Project Management:
* Ability to lead cross functional teams and planning and organizing resources
* Creates and maintains project timelines, milestones and deliverables both internally and externally
* Tracking of deliverables and Open Issues Lists (OIL)
* Manage within established budgets
Technologies:
* Owns the regional product roadmap and provides prioritized development guidance to the global sensors product and engineering organization.
* Identify and execute on expanding our product portfolio in key strategic areas through new technologies.
* Interfaces with customers in the development of specifications and technical refinements, which can be used to direct the development of new products or improvements to existing product.
Sales & Marketing:
* Coordinate communication with the sales and application engineering organization to drive new product technologies in the market.
* Define and execute pricing strategy for product portfolio, including compilation of competitive price points to manage upcoming price erosion in market.
* Develop and execute go to market strategies to increase revenue pipeline
* Create and delivery technical product trainings, presentations, brochures, and other promotional materials which will support Sales force and customer to understand the value proposal of our products.
* Execute calendar of marketing activities including trade/exhibition shows and seminars.
Operations:
* In partnership with value stream leaders work in specifics projects, including footprint optimization, to optimize resources and increase margins of assigned product line.
* Facilitate with purchasing the development of a strong vendor base.
* Continue to support relationships with key OEM and tier one industry customers, as well with the different department inside TE.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business required. MBA is a plus.
* PMP Preferred but not required
* Minimum seven years of experience working with a manufacturing or engineering organization required, preference in the automotive industry
* Product management / development or new business development background a plus
* Comfortable working around senior leadership
