Position Summary
The Department of Computer Science at Central Michigan University invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2019. Exceptionally qualified candidates in all areas of computer science are invited. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in the areas of networking, security, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cloud computing, mobile computing, or human-computer interaction. Successful candidates are expected to develop sponsored research programs, publish scholarly articles, and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. The department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology. The candidate should demonstrate the capability to teach a wide range of core and advanced computer science classes and labs. Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline, and be committed to excellence in research, teaching and service.
Required Qualifications
A terminal degree in Computer Science. Applicants with ABD will be considered but the degree must be completed before start date. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and in providing service to the Department, University and profession. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
