POSITION PURPOSE
Contributes to our strategic focus of operational excellence through oversight and management of the revenue cycle practices at a local Regional Health Ministry (RHM) to ensure standardization, implementation, and utilization of top decile practices. Serves as the leader of $125M-2B NPR in regional revenue cycle operations and will report directly to the CFO and Regional Director Patient Financial Services. Provides direct oversight of the performance of the local RHM and improvement initiatives within operations. Leads a team responsible for ensuring all revenue cycle functions at the RHM are delivered within the top decile of industry standards, and will oversee selection and training for local revenue cycle colleagues. Responsible for helping to support the formation and transition of operations to the new Patient Business Service site. Collaboration with the CFO and Regional Director Patient Financial Services, Patient Business Services (PBS) leaders, regional managers, clinical leaders, local RHM leaders and colleagues is critical to the role and overall success of Trinity Health operations. Provides consistent communication and engagement in order to allow for collaboration around performance goals and improvement initiatives and promote standardization and alignment with the overall Trinity Health vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversees regional hospital revenue cycle operations at local RHM ($125M-2B NPR) including proper implementation of system and local goals to ensure standard and top decile operations.
Manages all RHM revenue cycle and site operations at local RHM, including but not limited to the following key functions: Scheduling, Patient Registration, Insurance Verification, Registration, Benefit Advocacy, and Denial Prevention.
Manages and implements current and future best practices for revenue cycle functions to allow for all practices to be efficient and market relevant.
Implements and monitors adherence to company reimbursement policies and procedures. Provides effective use of system resources to drive optimal revenue cycle outcomes for the system.
Partners directly with RHM Leadership and PBS Leaders to gain feedback, and develop and implement action plans to improve front end Revenue Cycle processes that have a direct impact on billing and collections for account resolution.
Oversees the selection, direction, and development of new team members to ensure effective growth and utilization of talent.
Assists in the selection and facilitation of appropriate process and technology training of colleagues to achieve technical proficiency, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer service in Revenue Cycle areas.
Oversee regional budgets and targets allowing for financial oversight of the regional Revenue Cycle department functions.
May have oversight and responsibility for HIM and Revenue/Optimization/Charge Capture.
Collaborates with the CFO and Regional Director Patient Financial Services, PBS leaders, regional managers, regional clinical leadership, local RHM leadership and colleagues to accomplish key performance goals, implement performance improvement and other strategic initiatives, and identify opportunities for improvement through the integration of people, process, and technology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business and minimum ten (10) years of experience within revenue cycle operations, revenue metrics and analytics, and revenue management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership experience in a multi-facility, integrated health care delivery system or consulting experience required.
Knowledge of accounting systems and insurance issues, healthcare industry issues and trends, legal issues in field of expertise, required third party and governmental guidelines, and work processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong leadership, integration and execution skills. Considerable experience in planning, formulating and executing strategies. Ability to define program, process or business objectives and scope. Demonstrated proficiency and expertise to identify, evaluate and articulate operational opportunities, and risks, business needs/gaps, and understand customer/stakeholder interests.
Strong interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills in order to initiate and develop productive collaborative partnership with all levels of leadership across the organization. Ability to effectively influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships within and across the organization. Extremely high level of diplomacy and tact are required. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situation and react/plan accordingly.
Advanced analytical, evaluative, problem solving and decision making skills to serve in an advisory role in inspiring and initiating new ideas, determining strategies in the absence of guidelines, fostering innovative approaches to situations/processes/issues and execute multiple critical assignments.
