MDI Worldwide, a provider of a diverse array of signage, displays and fixtures seeks an Industrial Engineer to join our team. We support a myriad of industries from roadway to high fashion which ensures our days are fast paced and provide a consistent daily variety.
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for conducting studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization. Work with operation managers to improve productivity, quality and output. Create engineering drawings utilizing SolidWorks CAD software. Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the Engineering Department. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. M-F; plus overtime as needed.
- Conduct studies, such as; time, motion, bottleneck analysis, direct labor, indirect labor and ergonomic studies for a variety of machine, assembly, hand operations, production method, equipment layout, material handling, manpower and material utilization to improve operating performance.
- Assist operations in work center layout, equipment consultation and new product launches.
- Attend meetings with fabrication to determine if jobs require tooling or special attention.
- Create, verify and revise engineering drawings of product concepts utilizing computer-aided software.
- Assist product engineering in evaluating new product designs for manufacturability.
- Assist in the preparation of bill of materials.
- Participate in Safety Committee and maintain safety data sheets.
- Back up for Engineering Coordinator and Quality Department.
Qualifications
- Proficient in conducting time studies to maximize operations workflow.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to foster a positive work environment.
- Experience processing Engineering change orders and preparing bill of materials.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Proficient in CAD software, primarily 3-D solid molding and drawing creation.
- Industrial Engineer Degree.
- Valid Driver Operators License.
