Within Alliance Health our patients need Reception staff to help access the medical care they need. You provide patients with knowledge about our practice; schedule their appointments; obtain their insurance coverage; and gather their payment. Whether it be through warmth, compassion, attitude, or enthusiasm, you contribute in some way to make the patient experience better. The fully functioning Patient Assistant will be skilled in:
· Meeting patient needs in a professional way
· Telephone services
· Registration
· Insurance verification
· Appointment scheduling
· Greeting patients at the desk
· Locating records from our office and external sources
· Abstracting data into the EMR
· Patient check out including orders, and follow up visits.
· Scheduling patients with other doctors and testing.
· Collecting patient copays, deductibles, and prior balance
· Daily cash reconciliation
· Bank Deposits
· Maintaining the providers schedule
· Training new staff
· Producing Epic reports
Other Responsibilities
· Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
· Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
· Upholds HIPAA regulations
· Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.
Qualifications include:
· Experience with direct patient interactions.
· 1 -3 years of experience.
· Strong communication skills.
Qualifications:
The employee may occasionally have loud noise in the office but rarely will have any physical exertion or temperature changes.
Physical Demands:
The employee will be required to listen to patients and communicate with them through listening and speaking with patients. The employee will frequently stand, walk, sit, handle papers (grip, feel and moving) throughout the day. They will rarely be required to lift, push, pull or move anything physically.
These same factors will be used in compensation decisions. Alliance Health defines an entry level and a maximum pay rate. On an annual basis, when increased funds become available, leadership will use your score to allocate pay to individuals. Departments that operate more efficiently will have more funds available.
