1. Assist in evaluating production processes e.g. Carburizing, Induction Heat Treat, Welding, Chemical conversion, Shot Peen to ensure quality and conformance of axle and driveshaft components with AAM and customer specifications including commercial vehicles
2. Metallurgical sample preparation for analysis
3. Assist with resolving metallurgical quality issues using statistical methods such as SPC, DOE and Six Sigma to analyze and resolve metallurgical qualify issues
4. Assist with submitting proposals for developing cost savings, rework procedures and recipes in heat treat
5. Assist with installation of new heat treating equipment and enhancements to existing equipment, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Job Requirements:
1. Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student from an accredited college or university. Material science majors, mechanical engineering majors, chemical engineering majors or related degree programs are preferred.
2. Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to learn other programs used by various AAM departments.
3. Graduation of December 2019 or later, preferred
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and high attention to detail and accuracy of information is required.

6. Must be available to work for year-long period (Jan 2019-Dec 2019).
7. Must be flexible to work assigned shift and overtime as required.
