The Opportunity
As part of our ongoing commitment to developing world class leaders, we are seeking a Director of Global Executive Learning & Leadership Development to drive our global learning and leadership development strategy in alignment with the organization’s enterprise agenda. The Director will work to create a leadership advantage by designing, delivering and measuring our global efforts to help current and future leaders define and achieve their full potential. In addition, the Director will be responsible for system-wide development and implementation of models, tools, and training to enhance the organization’s overall leadership capabilities and performance.
The Director will also partner with business leaders globally and other partners within Whirlpool’s HR team to deliver a comprehensive leadership development strategy and operational road maps aligned to the needs of each business and/or group. As such, this role requires an exceptionally strong leader who has the ability to create a step function change in learning outcomes, culture and performance.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop and deliver innovative “signature” development programs (strategy, architecture and systems) to ensure Whirlpool’s leaders have the necessary skills and capability to accelerate personal growth and are ready for the next level of leadership
Through gap analysis of collective individual assessments and understanding of enterprise business imperatives, develop targeted solutions to enhance the performance of our current and future leaders
Identify, develop and measure appropriate metrics to assess the success of the programs, making recommendations on continuous improvement actions
Create a global learning council / steering committee to ensure visibility to and alignment on global initiatives and investments to the most critical business needs
Drive the level of change necessary commensurate with large scale, global initiatives in order to achieve desired outcomes aligned with the overall strategy
Partner with key business stakeholders and the broader HR organization in delivering leading practice learning initiatives
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of experience in a leadership role in a complex matrixed organization in either HR, Learning & Development, Organization & Talent Development or related discipline with expertise in leadership development, program design and delivery, competency development, and learning effectiveness measurement/analysis
Bachelor’s Degree required, relevant certifications and/or Master’s Degree or advanced degree preferred
Strategic mindset with proven operational excellence
Experience leading and driving change on large scale, global learning initiatives
Expertise designing innovative and contemporary global leadership programs that deliver measurable outcomes
Ability to identify and work with outside vendors and/or top universities in creating unique leadership development experiences
Proficiency with and broad understanding of technology enablers and the digital landscape
Ability to define, leverage and analyze data as input to and support of strategy and ongoing continuous improvement efforts
Excellent communication skills; effective presentation and facilitation skills; ability to communicate with external partners, all levels of leadership, and individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds
Strong executive presence and experience working with C-Suite
Proven results in being business outcome oriented; partnering with others in gathering business requirements and leveraging learning design as the enabler, not the end state
