CAMW! is looking for a New Americans Navigator to join our administrative team at our Lansing office, which provides the backbone support for our organization, ensuring smooth operations in support of our mission.
The New Americans Navigator functions as a dedicated facilitator, problem solver, systems change agent, and relationship builder in support of work-authorized New Americans. This position supports clients with language acquisition/English as a second language, housing, healthcare, childcare, transportation, high school diploma/equivalency, public assistance, training, employment, financial, legal, and civil rights. This position will also serve as the lead staff member for the Skilled Immigrant Integration Program. Grant requirements are to support internationally-trained job seekers to connect with Michigan-based careers in their profession and education.
The ideal candidate has at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in human resources, business, education, psychology, or related social science area is required. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Essential Job Functions
Reaches out to and engages with New Americans/Refugee Service Agencies and other key community partners.
- Collaborates with CAMW! Business Services Team for potential employment opportunities for New Americans.
- Maintains a comprehensive, current catalog of work-authorized New Americans resources.
- Actively recruits non-referred work-authorized New Americans in the community.
- Acquires necessary translation/interpretation services for work-authorized New Americans.
- Provides individualized referral services for work-authorized New Americans.
- Drives work-authorized new citizen traffic to One Stop American Job Centers (AJC). The intent is to facilitate a significant, measurable increase in work-authorized new citizen traffic accessing the Michigan Works! system.
- Serves as a resource for AJC staff on federal, state, and local programs/laws that affect work-authorized New Americans.
- Meets deadlines and reporting requirements as identified by CAMW! Administration.
- Completes and maintains documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local policy.
- Tracks performance measures and submits monthly reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000
