Position Description:
1) Perform managerial and administrative supervision duties associated with mentoring and counseling of Materials Management Department staff in accordance with department policies and procedures.
2) Lead/support SCM and GDLS strategic initiatives.
3) Work involves a high level of independent judgment, organizational ability, communication and interpersonal skills and decision-making, for the direct supervision of a small group of employees in the following areas: - Inventory management - Minimize potential production material shortages/ expediting costs via proactive/timely reaction to MRP signals & MRP exception messages - Confirmation of MRP demand validity and analysis of MRP recommendations (signals) - Supplier management & expediting activities - MRP Exception message management and PO Maintenance
4) Manage SCM planning metrics
5) Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
6) Staff training and development
7) Travel as required to support staff and leadership at supplier meetings
8) Provide staff feedback and generate performance reviews
9) Interface cross functionally as required
10) Other duties as required by Manager
Position Requirements:
6+ years of Supply Chain or business operations experience in the following ;
* Manufacturing (all areas)
* Supply Chain Management (all areas)
* Process Engineering
* Materials Management
* Industrial Engineering
- Inventory Management & Control
Previous supervisory experience preferred, not required
- MRP planning knowledge (discrete and inventory based) and analysis experience highly desirable
- Oracle Planning & ERP knowledge and experience highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Supplier management/Expediting experience highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization (oral and written)
- Self directed
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Attention to detail and follow-up
- Ability to work under pressure (i.e. compressed deadlines)
- Strong time management Skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Travel required
