Driving for Kent County Community Action is about more than being a good driver. It is about helping to improve the quality of life for older adults in Kent County by helping them access important appointments and services. It’s about delivering nutritious meals to homebound older adults and bringing seniors to a meal site for games and a sense of belonging. It’s about making a difference for those in need in our community.
This driver position will work approximately 20 hours a week. The schedule is typically a set schedule but has flexibility with how the schedule is created so it is mutually beneficial to the needs of the department and the applicant. The schedule could include working a few full days a week, a series of half days, or other unique solutions between the hours of 7:30a-5p. No nights, weekends or holidays.
The selected candidate will drive vans and small buses to locations throughout Kent County to deliver food to homebound customers, transport customers to and from destinations, provide ambulatory assistance, and provide other transportation related assistance as needed.
