This position is for a Postdoctoral Associate - Physics & Astronomy with a public university location in East Lansing, MI. This position is for a Coordinator, Center for Student Activities with a public university with a location in Starkville, MS. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. Coordinate all Difference of One student organization management system, including Org Sync database, Organization Committee, training and leadership programs, organization fairs, and student organization manual. 2. Coordinate the late night and weekend programming events. 3. Advise the Involvement Ambassador program including membership selection, training, and events. 4. Assist in advising the Center for Student Activities Programming Board and Music Maker Productions. 5. Assist in the implementation of welcome week activities and Orientation fairs including event planning, marketing, advising student organizations. 6. Assist in the supporting functions of the day to day traffic in the Center for Student Activities. 7. Conduct surveys to determine student needs and interests and assess learning outcomes of programs presented by Center for Student Activities programming boards. 8. Attend all Center for Student Activities-sponsored programs and meetings. 9. Travel with student delegates to workshops and programs sponsored by professional associations and/or other institutions. 10. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Minimum of one year's leadership experience in a student organization. 2. Experience in student programming or student activities, preferably in a higher education setting. 3. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree, preferably in student development, higher education, or a related discipline Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient with technology. Excellent oral and written communication skills Working Conditions/Physical Effort: No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Frequent - External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
