West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics is hiring a full time Assistant Director. Deadline to apply is June 30th. Position will start August 16th.
West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics, a K-8 charter school located in Spring Lake was established in 1996. This position is an addition to the leadership team of WMAAA to accommodate growing enrollment. The successful candidate will support the Director of WMAAA in the leadership and development of a program that values the integration of an integrated arts program. He/she will strive to set a positive tone for building wide discipline. Equally, this position requires attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure the building is well managed to support and enhance educational programming. A strong parent liaison, especially related to student behavioral concerns, is critical.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Michigan teaching certification
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Instruction, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Background and experience in leadership and experience leading professionals
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience with data analysis and data-driven decision making
Qualifications Preferred:
- Valid and current State of Michigan Administrator’s Certification or the ability to attain
- A background or connection to the arts and arts integration
- Experience as a principal intern, assistant principal, or teacher leader
- Demonstrated results in raising student achievement
- Experience with observation and evaluation of certified and support staff using a State approved evaluation instrument
- Experience with leading PBIS and/or MTSS
- Experience managing and supervising professionals and/or system design
