Duties
Summary
Primary duties will be to provide primary care services in the outpatient setting in the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. Based on clinical need, the provider could also work in the Pontiac Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Pontiac, Michigan primary care clinic located in mental health service in the medical center, Michigan and Veteran's Community Resource and Referral Center (VCRRC) located in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, the provider will be expected to provide cross coverage based on the clinical need of the primary care service.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm for four days a week; 9:30am to 6:00pm one day a week; one Saturday a month from 8:00am to 4:30pm of which the Selectee will be off on the Monday the Provider (Physician) works on Saturday. Financial Disclosure Report:Not required

Responsibilities
This also includes working with students and residents to model excellence in patient care and contributes significantly to the education program of our students and residents. Participation in clinical research both at the VA Hospital and the Wayne State University General Medicine Division will be encouraged.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements: * United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. * Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. * Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. * Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. * Proficiency in spoken and written English. * Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred Experience: Preferred to be BE/BC in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting and carrying (45+ lbs.); As needed - Straight pulling, pulling handover hand, pushing and reaching above shoulders, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending, climbing using both legs and arms; use of fingers and both hands required; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13'-16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted); working closely with others; working alone; protracted or irregular hours of work.

Annual leave shall accrue for full-time physicians at the rate of 26 days per leave year (1 day per pay period).
