Role Summary:
Lead a team of Project Managers and Project Engineers overseeing multiple self-perform construction projects in a variety of locations across the U.S. Responsible for managing the project budget, change order, cost tracking, forecasting, and invoicing processes. Also responsible for being the primary link between operations and accounting functions.
Essential Functions:
Supervise and lead team of Project Managers and Project Engineers.
Assist in building the baseline schedule & project budget
Review weekly costs and burn rates
Lead weekly conference calls with major project group
Customer interaction where necessary
Assist in putting change orders together
Close communication with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing, Etc.)
Oversee monthly financials, accruals and forecasting
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of project controls experience with at least 3 years in a management role
Strong leadership skills
Travel is required - 25%
Full understanding of the project life cycle as defined by Project Management Institute
Ability to apply project management concepts, and methodologies.
Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word & MS Project
Advanced in MS Excel
Proficient in financial practices and principles.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
Ability to motivate team members
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certificates:
Desired: Project Management Certificate from an accredited school or Project Management Institute.
