Job Description Summary
Oversee and maintain degree requirements and ensure that the degree audit software is functioning efficiently. Serve as the registrar's office representative on the University Senate Curricular Policy Committee. Maintain curriculum tables in Banner, including major/program codes, GPA calculations, and degree rules.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
• Encode and maintain program requirements for undergraduate and graduate certificates and degrees in the degree audit system and online in compliance with ADA regulations
• Interpret and implement academic policies related to student degree records
• Analyze policies and requirements, develop alternatives, test the options, and recommend solutions
• Enter general education and complex exceptions to degree requirements
• Serve as the registrar's office representative (ex-officio member) on the University Senate's Curricular Policy Committee
• Maintain approvals of new, changed, and ended academic programs
• Establish academic program codes and build/maintain curriculum rules in Banner; notify the graduate school, admissions, SAIS, EAS, the academic unit, the provost's office, and other administrative offices across the University to ensure collaboration and appropriate timing of marketing and recruiting efforts
• Maintain departmental GPA calculation rules in uAchieve and in Banner
• Maintain CIP codes; consult with academic units, provost's office, and Institutional Analysis regarding original assignment, changes, and/or updates to CIP codes
• Provide support to the commencement planning committee
• Develop training resources and provide uAchieve training to academic advisors
• Work with academic advisors to finalize/approve degree audits of students returning to complete their degree after a long absence from the University
• Answer questions and interpret curricular policies for academic advisors
• Work closely with Transfer Services to facilitate the transfer credit process as it relates to degree completion and graduation
• Assist the associate registrar with special projects and technical enhancements as they relate to the degree services area, including software updates or implementation of new software programs
• Collaborate with Transfer Services to facilitate the transfer credit process as it relates to degree completion and graduation
• Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge can be acquired
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
• Professional work experience in a registrar's office or related administrative office in higher education
Desirable Education and/or Experience
• Experience working with Banner, uAchieve, or a similar information system
• Experience working with curriculum and degree requirements
