JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree (Preferred) *Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. License: Valid State of Michigan driver license
Minimum Work Experience
2 years in Building/ Plant Systems Maintenance; 1 year Boiler Operation and Building Maintenance (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates and assists in maintaining and repairing heating, cooling, and HVAC equipment.
Performs daily maintenance rounds and reports any unsafe conditions.
Completes maintenance work orders as assigned.
Responds promptly and appropriately to overhead pages, beeps, and phone calls related to maintenance requests.
Operates backup plant systems as required.
Performs preventative maintenance as assigned.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains records, logs, and files as required.
Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Maintains established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information, and infection control standards.
Complies with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies at all times, to include but not limited to, TJC and federal compliance regulations.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and professional conferences.
