Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Radiology Equipment Technician II (RADT II) performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of a wide variety of medical imaging devices & systems at multiple locations. Examples of these imaging devices & systems are; Portable radiographic, portable fluoroscopic, radiographic unit * digital and conventional, radiographic/fluoroscopic * digital & conventional Ultrasound, mammography, molecular imaging systems, bone density, etc. The RADT II will also provide the following services; incoming equipment inspections, installation, removal/relocation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical imaging devices.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field Advanced Medical Imaging Training Experience: Four years of direct medical device service Licensure/Certifications: Valid driver*s license Other skills/knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and safe working practices Demonstrated ability to effectively use hand tools commonly associated with the repair and maintenance of medical equipment Demonstrated ability to use test equipment, gauges and meters commonly associated with the service of medical equipment Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret technical documentation including, but not limited to wiring and equipment schematics Demonstrated ability to mentor/teach other technicians within the department Demonstrated ability of basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated understanding of human anatomy and physiology and how medical devices interface with the human body Demonstrated knowledge of common medical terminology Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, allied health technicians and department managers both verbally and in writing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Level I X-Ray Training certificate Licensure/Certifications CompTIA A+ Certification CompTIA Network+ Certification CBET or CLES Certification
