General:
1. The Plant Worker will do his/her best to help give our buyers the very best product that can be
produced from the raw product received.
2. The Plant Worker will have a respectful demeanor and stay calm at all times towards other
employees, farmers, truck drivers and any other persons on the job site.
3. The Plant Worker will politely challenge any person on site that you are not sure should be
present.
4. The Plant Worker must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively of bagged beans and stack them on
shipping pallets.
5. The Plant Worker will have one 30 minute lunch break during the
work day. Please be aware that the time for these may change because of daily activities especially during harvest. Water & restroom breaks as necessary.
6. Normal shift times are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but this schedule subject to change during harvest.
7. Overtime will be required not voluntary at certain times throughout the year but especially during
Harvest time.
8. Plant Workers will receive daily job instructions and tasks from Plant Processors and shall
Complete assignments as instructed. If there is any discrepancy in assignments Plant Workers
And Processors shall contact Processing Manager.
Communication:
Report in a timely fashion to your Supervisor:
1. Any problems with beans being processed that may not meet standard product
specifications.
2. Any issues with warehousing or shipping.
3. Any employee issues regarding work performance, worker safety and food safety,
4. Any environmental issues effecting worker safety and food safety.
5. Desire for vacation days or time off for other reasons.
Food Safety:
1. Be sure to follow all company policies regarding food safety and security.
2. Be sure your clothes are proper for your job:
No grease, oil, paint or other such substances on your clothes
No exposed jewelry other than plain wedding band
No ripped clothing or frayed edges where fabric might fall into the beans
No contaminated foot wear
Safety toe boots or shoes required
Worker Safety:
1. Must follow all work place rules & OSHA rules including personal protective equipment requirements. Must attend periodic safety and food quality training.
Environment:
Maintain the physical environment by:
1. Regularly sweeping up and removing product spills.
2. Regularly sweeping the general areas around machines.
3. Regularly removing accumulated dust and debris from machines and the work area.
