Develop, test and debug Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs for automated equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Controls Engineer/PLC Programmer perform a wide range of duties such as:
- Investigate and resolve issues associated with assembly automation, workstations, robotics, and automated equipment
- Test new programs for reliability and safety with automation equipment
- Able to troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes
- Must oversee customer installations are successful, and provide guidance and support
- Maintain quality and safety procedures
- Must be well versed in machine controls and have good mechanical aptitude
- Perform and assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and edit electrical and mechanical schematics
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, or related field required
- Knowledgeable with robotics, machining, assembly lines and conveyor
- Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport
- Motivated with strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Education
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required
