GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to ensure child support billing is directed to the appropriate beneficiaries. Research neglect, delinquency, probate, and domestic matters in accordance with court orders. Investigate reconciling accounting with public assistance records. Adjusts records and recalls overpayments of child support from the state authorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research neglect, delinquency, probate, and domestic matters to ensure child support accounting is accurate and in accordance with court orders; adjusts accounting and redirects support to the appropriate party.
- Manages daily alerts regarding custody changes, public assistance discrepancies, and possible overpayments to the State of Michigan; facilitates the appropriate accounting work as necessary.
- Research public assistance records to confirm support is being directed to the appropriate party/entity; recalls any child support overpayments to the State of Michigan.
- Interacts and communicates with other court entities and departments to obtain court orders and information necessary for case adjustments.
- Participates in Federal/State mandated training for Confidentiality and Security, Customer Service, and Michigan Child Support Enforcement.
- Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- 6 months + training beyond High School
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience in public assistance
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
