What You Will Do
Apply specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders, conditions and addictions.
Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for the purpose of diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities.
Develop and implement appropriate assessment-based treatment plan.
Consult with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with patient's treatment plan.
Provide crisis-oriented psychotherapy as well as short-term and long-term psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment.
Completes documentation of patient therapy in a timely manner and in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
In order for initial or continuing privileges as an Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)/Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to be granted, the Practitioner must be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan, have adequate malpractice insurance in the amount designated by Borgess Medical Center and document the absence of any health problems which would adversely affect the Practitioner's ability to exercise those privileges requested.. In addition, applicants are required to follow all Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations and departmental policies and procedures with respect to their use of core and additional privileges.
Education:
LMSW Path: Master of Social Work degree from a Council of Social Work Education(CSWE) accredited institutionLPC Path: Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs(CACREP)
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience preferred.
