Project Manager
Humphrey Products is a Kalamazoo based manufacturer of pneumatic components and systems used in industry, medical, transportation and other applications. This position requires a BS degree preferably in an engineering related discipline with at least three years of experience leading Project Teams to develop and launch products and or processes.
Project Manager Job Elements
- Assure customer requirements are complete, understood and translated into a product in conjunction with Sales and Lead Product Engineer.
- Coordination with customers to assure program timing is understood, tracked and met.
- Communications with customers logged and distributed through Contact Manager D-Base.
- Assure products meet business objectives for performance, quality, cost and timing through coordination of cross functional project team.
- Cost development and tracking for product or process programs.
- Labor, prototypes, development, equipment, tooling, services and components, etc.
- Tracking of all key changes to product, process, etc. relative to program cost impact.
- Provide and maintain resource estimates for the program and raise issues as appropriate.
- Project Tracking Workbooks initiated and maintained.
- Master Gant Chart, action items, meeting minutes, engineering gate reviews, costs, etc.
- Project Tracking Matrix by part number status (R,Y,G) and dates.
- Project meetings held with internal functions and customers.
- Minutes made and action items tracked in project workbooks.
- Engineering Change Requests (ECR) packages entered to release products and changes.
- Assure functional areas complete their parts of the change package.
- Assure customer driven changes include cost recovery for engineering, etc. and piece cost.
- Prototype requirements orders placed for customer needs and program development.
- Prioritize, track, remove roadblocks and make dates.
- Resolve cross functional issues and trade-offs on cost, quality, timing and performance.
- Assure key product development, processing and launch documents are completed.
- Prints, DFMEA, Test Reports, PFD, PFMEA, PCP, PWB, Project Close Out Doc., etc.
- Provide weekly updates on program status and issues to the VP of Engineering & Compliance and others.
