Your new responsibilities
As the Senior Director of Sales, you will lead and drive all aspects of direct OEM business activity in the Americas. Inclusive of West Coast Automotive Sales team.&In your new role you will:Lead and drive all aspects of direct OEM business activity in the Americas. Lead and Drive Michigan and West Coast Automotive Sales team. This position will manage the Americas Automotive OEM Business Development team as well as the West Coast Automotive Sales team. The Senior Director will work collaboratively within a team of several Business Line Managers, Account Managers, Segment Managers, Application Engineers, Product Marketing, Quality, and Logistics teams.&Business and Account Development
&Develop, execute and measure detailed strategies for targeted OEMs and Tier 1s.
Able to represent entire system solution to OEMs/Tier 1s using all relevant ams OSRAM products
Able to drive OEM requirements into future internal product roadmap decisions
Understand and influence OEM technical requirements to create opportunities&
Able to define long-term partnership proposals and influence customer&'s future product planning decisions to recommend or specify ams OSRAM technology and/or products to Tier 1 suppliers for targeted applications
Understand, maintain and distribute key OEM information, including trends, platform program, SAM/TAM by system/module, system architecture, and organization structure
Work closely with Tier1s on specific OEM projects where the Tier1s are heavily involved
Manage and drive internally and externally all aspects of the Global Business of select OEMs and Tier 1 customers, including coordination of resources and activities in other regionsCustomer Relationship Development
Secure access to all relevant decision-makers at the executive level and below at the customer
Create a global account relationship development plan to secure appropriate relationships with the customer
Communicate appropriate customer-specific information to immediate management
Recognized by the customer as empowered to champion customer&'s needs within ams OSRAM
Create, document, and execute relationship plans consistent with the Business Development strategy for all targeted OEMs and Tier1s
Establish contacts at all levels from working level to Executive Management between ams OSRAM and OEMs/Tier 1s
Guide and coach team members in their interactions with the OEMs/Tier1s, as well as crisis avoidance/managementLeadership
A proactive leader that can motivate direct and indirect team members as well as other partners
Able to influence key executives from long distances to support one&'s strategy
Drive employee development, including coaching and mentoring, identifying what skills are needed on a team
Able to gain the respect of team members and create an atmosphere where the team is comfortable to debate issues but follow the final decision
Can recognize when a team is at risk of completing the task and can suggest adjustments to the plan
Develop rapport with Segment Marketing teams to ensure an overall positive team atmosphere and success at the customer
Enable others to act - foster collaboration inside/outside the Corporate Account team and build spirited teams
Foster fast decision-making - active listening and collaborating with others, respect opinions, and take decisions quickly with the information available&
What we look for
Important aspects of this position are to have the ability to build customer intimacy, drive system design activity, and be a team player
BSEE or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Automotive, developing business with North American OEM and Tier 1 customers
Extensive automotive background, including automotive value chain & automotive systems/electronics, and semiconductors required
Experience managing and leading a team effectively ndash; 5+ years extensive technology-based sales and marketing experience, including executive selling, required
Global travel required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and MS Office skills including effective presentation abilities
Excellent assertiveness and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively within a team
Excellent problem-solving skills
