Summary:
To work with other cooks to serve varied and nutritious meals to the Juvenile Home's residents and staff using Federal Standardized Recipes.
Responsibilities:
- Daily preparation of nutritious and varied meals utilizing Federal Standardized Recipes.
- Follow daily cleaning schedule for assigned shift (see attached).
- Inventory all knives at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Properly operate and maintain kitchen and appliances.
- Provide direction to Day Treatment participants who are assigned to kitchen duty.
- Clear knowledge of and adherence to all facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all foods are prepared, served, and stored at proper temperatures.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification through the Michigan School Food Service Association.
Experience:
Two years' experience working in a moderate-size kitchen. Knowledge of volume cooking and maintaining high vitamin content in foods.
