SUMMARY
This position exists for the effective overall operation of the Facilities Department, in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Casino operation. Position purpose is to respond to job assignments in the repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment and related components as directed. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED preferred
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of commercial electrical experience. Journeyman Electrician card.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must be 21+ years of age.
Must have extensive knowledge of electric codes, materials, and methods of installation.
Must be familiar with installing power supply wiring.
Proven ability to operate large machinery including forklift, skid steer, and snow removal equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic electric controls and 3-phase 120, 220, and 440 wirings.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair commercial electrical equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal forms.
Must be able to utilize critical-thinking skills to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.
Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established guidelines.
Must have a valid driver's license for the state in which the property is located.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino's "Unsurpassed Service" Standards at all times.
Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property's electrical equipment, controls, lighting, and components.
Respond to all internal and external guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid guest inconvenience or discomfort.
Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
Connects electrical systems to power lines to provide electricity to the building.
Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
Become thoroughly familiar with all systems throughout the property.
Responsible for training and mentoring less experienced Team Members.
Maintain all tools and maintenance equipment.
Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
Formulate a bill of materials to accomplish assigned tasks.
Systematically prepare to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts and materials are available and accomplish tasks efficiently and safely.
Have knowledge of MSDS booklet location for your area.
Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Facilities Manager, or any other authorized Supervisors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May require prolonged standing. Requires bending, stooping, and reaching from floor level. Requires crawling in attic areas, climbing ladders, and stairs. May require lifting, transporting pushing, pulling, and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 75 lb. with or without assistance.
Requires hand/eye coordination and depth perception.
Requires the ability to use and carry job-related equipment.
Manual dexterity to operate hand and foot controls.
Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Requires the physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
WORK CONDITIONS
Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas such as attics and high areas such as catwalks and roofs. Tasks may be performed from a non-sitting position.
Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, bend kneel, crawl, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of the assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
