- Have completed 16 college credit hours at an accredited college or university; OR, 16 hours of Fire/EMS Continuing Education Credits; OR, 2 years-service in the United States Military with an Honorable Discharge.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
- Be able to pass the 40 hours of Marine Deputy Training.
