In this newly created position, you will:
- Partner closely with senior leadership on high visibility financial reporting and technical accounting initiatives, giving you the opportunity to build and strengthen the systems and capabilities that will support Ionetix’s next stage of growth.
- Lead the preparation and filing of periodic reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, and other required filings.
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, supporting schedules, and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements.
- Manage SEC reporting calendars, deliverables, and filing requirements to support accurate and timely submissions.
- Maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation for financial reporting conclusions, disclosures, and SEC filings.
- Research technical accounting and reporting matters, monitor developments in U.S. GAAP and SEC rules, and assess the effect of new standards and guidance on the Company’s accounting and reporting practices.
- Lead accounting and reporting analyses, including equity, warrants, stock-based compensation, leases, and financing transactions.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit, supported by external technical accounting advisers on accounting and reporting matters.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and related accounting policies and procedures.
- Document and strengthen key financial reporting processes and controls, including process narratives and control matrices, and assist with identifying control gaps, remediation activities, and process improvements.
- Coordinate XBRL and iXBRL tagging, review, and work with external service providers, as applicable.
- Support quarterly and year-end close activities and other accounting and financial reporting initiatives necessary to meet public-company reporting requirements.
- Build effective working relationships across the organization and with external auditors, advisers, and service providers to support the Company’s financial reporting objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field of study.
- Eight (8) or more years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
- Meaningful public-company reporting experience, including hands-on involvement in the preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K and related financial statement disclosures.
- Experience researching complex technical accounting matters and preparing accounting analyses and memoranda.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and public-company financial reporting practices.
- Ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance to complex or unfamiliar transactions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively throughout the organization.
- Ability to work collaboratively and respond productively to change.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and represent the organization professionally in person, over the phone, and in writing.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, preferred.
- NetSuite and SEC reporting software experience, preferred.
