Metal Fabricator / Welder – Capital M Welding and Fabrication LLC
Capital M Welding and Fabrication LLC is a growing Detroit-based welding and fabrication company seeking a dependable and skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team.
We perform custom welding, fabrication, repair, installation, and mobile welding for commercial and residential customers throughout Metro Detroit.
Responsibilities:
Measure, mark, cut, fit, tack, and weld steel components.
Perform MIG welding and general metal fabrication.
Read tape measures, drawings, sketches, and job specifications.
Fabricate railings, gates, security cages, frames, brackets, and other custom metal products.
Perform repairs to damaged or rusted steel.
Operate grinders, saws, drills, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools.
Prepare metal for welding, priming, and painting.
Assist with field installations and mobile welding projects.
Drill and install anchors, base plates, posts, railings, and other fabricated components.
Inspect completed work for proper measurements, fit, weld quality, and appearance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Load and unload tools, materials, and completed projects.
Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
Qualifications:
Welding and/or metal fabrication experience preferred.
MIG welding experience required.
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure, including fractions.
Must understand basic fabrication layout, fit-up, and squaring.
Must be comfortable using common welding and fabrication equipment.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must be willing to perform both shop fabrication and field installation work.
Must be able to lift and handle steel, tools, and fabrication materials associated with the position.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Welding certification.
Experience fabricating railings, gates, stairs, structural steel, security cages, or similar products.
Stick or Flux-Core welding experience.
Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Mobile welding or field installation experience.
