Position Summary:
The Administrative Office Assistant III provides primary administrative support for the Economics Department, including the MA in Economics Graduate Program. Responsibilities include daily office operations, budget and financial records, purchasing, scheduling, graduate program support, and coordination of departmental activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the Department Chair, Graduate Coordinator, and department.

Coordinate office workflow and supervise, hire, and train student assistants.

Process and maintain MA in Economics applications, records, and databases.

Prepare journal entries, reimbursements, vouchers, purchase orders, and departmental payroll.

Maintain and analyze budgets, grants, professional development, scholarships, tuition, and purchasing accounts using SAP.

Coordinate faculty and classroom schedules and required scheduling paperwork.

Maintain faculty, personnel, course, student, and departmental records.

Coordinate book orders, student opinion surveys, scholarships, and department communications.

Support faculty recruiting, including applications, interviews, campus visits, and travel arrangements.

Coordinate the Department Speaker Series and other travel arrangements.

Maintain Economics major/minor email lists and support curricular processes.

Prepare and distribute personnel and budgetary forms and reports.
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Four years of qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Microsoft Word experience and spreadsheet/database skills.

Customer service experience.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work.

Ability to compose, proofread, and edit correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with Excel, Access, SAP, or other relevant systems.

Web page design/maintenance skills may be desired.
