Job Summary/Description:
WILX-WSYM, the dominant news leader in Lansing, Michigan, is looking for an energetic Morning News Anchor/Reporter to join Lansing's #1-rated morning newscasts. We are seeking a versatile journalist with a strong on-air presence who can connect with our morning viewers and help lead our multi-platform coverage.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Anchor morning newscasts with high energy, credibility, authority, and a conversational delivery tailored to morning viewers.
• Collaborate closely with producers and co-anchors to shape daily content, review scripts, and deliver dynamic newscasts.
• Pitch, research, write, and produce compelling local news stories.
• Deliver live reports from the field and in-studio during breaking news and severe weather events.
• Publish engaging, timely content to the station’s website, mobile app, and social media channels.
• Conduct live interviews with local newsmakers, community leaders, and experts.
• Represent the station professionally at community events and station initiatives.
• Maintain a collaborative, team-first attitude in the newsroom.
• Other duties as assigned.
