Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural and spiritual preferences.
Responsibilities:
- Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in an effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
- Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
- Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste, and other policies and protocols.
- Performs other related job duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant.
- One month of job-related experience and/or training.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
- One year of experience in a medical setting.
