Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up, operating, and editing programs on Haas 3-axis CNC lathes to machine components from plate or flat stock according to detailed blueprints and exact dimensions
You will produce precision parts for hot runner systems used in the plastic injection industry, working with a variety of materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper, nickel, aluminum, brass, and hardened steel
You will use G and M codes to adjust feeds and speeds, perform in-process quality checks with micrometers and calipers, and support both short-run production and one-off components in a dynamic, clean, and modern manufacturing environment
Job Responsibilities
Set up and operate Haas 3-axis CNC machines to machine parts from plate or flat stock according to blueprints and job travelers
Interpret and follow engineering drawings and blueprints to achieve exact dimensions, tolerances, and detailed part features
Edit G and M codes at the machine to optimize feeds, speeds, and tool paths for quality and efficiency
Use templates, macros, and parametric programming methods to create or modify CNC programs from prints when required
Perform tooling setup, including installing, offsetting, and changing cutting tools and inserts as needed
Measure and inspect each part using digital micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to maintain dimensional conformance
Document and maintain quality standards by verifying part dimensions and surface finishes throughout the production run
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience setting up and operating 2-axis CNC machines
Strong understanding of G and M codes and their application to feeds, speeds, and tool paths
Hands-on experience operating Haas CNC lathes with 3-axis capability and live tooling
Ability to edit CNC programs at the control on Haas or Fanuc-based controllers
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
Ability to read and use digital micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments accurately
Demonstrated skill in performing lathe operations such as turning, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, and milling flats and grooves

This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
