- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Electrical journeyman’s card or Master Electrician License from the State of Michigan and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with a variety of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems.
- Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other skilled trades including plumbing and mechanical installations as these may impact electrical installations and repairs.
- Ability to interpret building schematics as they apply to electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various electrical maintenance and repair tasks; frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds to move and use tools, equipment, and the application of electrical procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
