Job Description
The Michigan Department of Treasury seeks an Economic Analystto join our team and support critical research that informs statewide fiscal and economic decisions. In this position, you will:
Collect, organize, and validate economic and revenue data related to both the U.S. and Michigan economies.
Conduct foundational quantitative analyses to identify trends and key insights.
Prepare clear, well-structured written materials summarizing findings for internal and external stakeholders.
This role is designed to help you build strong analytical skills, gain an understanding of departmental processes, and develop familiarity with major economic and revenue data sources. One year of professional experience performing economic analysis and modeling activities equivalent to an Economic Analyst 9.
Economic Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience performing economic analysis and modeling activities equivalent to an Economic Analyst, including one year equivalent to an Economic Analyst 10.

All work must be performed in the state of Michigan.To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must commute to Michigan to perform the responsibilities and duties of this position at your assigned official work location.
Hybrid Remote Work. To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you are a State of Michigan resident, this position is eligible to work remotely three days per week (Monday, Thursday, and Friday) and is required to work on-site at the assigned official workstation two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday). Additionally, the selected candidate must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions while performing the duties of this position, as well as secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Additional onsite work may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to management approval and may be adjusted or discontinued at any time. Please note that remote work is not available if you reside outside of the State of Michigan.

Interviews.Interviews may occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary. Instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview using Microsoft Teams.
