Position offers a starting salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience.

What You Drive At DTNA
Development of axles (mechanics) for medium and heavy-duty truck & bus applications on component and system level
Responsible for the development of Axle Components and systems which include Product Specification, Concept, Design, Packaging, DFMEA/DVP, Tolerance Calculations, Simulations, Prototype Assy, Testing and Documentation
Collaborate globally on development of hardware components with Detroit, Stuttgart & Portland colleagues
Collaborate with colleagues inside and outside of engineering to release Axle components and systems to production
Manage component suppliers
Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations and review with management
Create project plans and timelines, and assist management with defining budget requirements
Promptly resolve plant issues, field problems, and customer requests
Cross-functional activities with regional and Global counterparts in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Suppliers
Communicate effectively and maintain professional/social interaction in a multi-cultural and International environment
Improve knowledge and skills through training; actively identify areas of potential self-improvement and alert management of opportunities for training
Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve the work environment, systems, tools, and processes as well as product cost and quality
Intensive Collaboration with Stuttgart on sustaining and axle projects
Other activities as necessary and/or assigned
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field, and 2-4 years of relevant experience, is required
Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
Background in mechanical hardware development
Strong Knowledge of propulsion systems including not limited to axles
Strong Knowledge of axle and transmission systems
Ability to manage multiple projects and inform management of any barriers
Strong oral and written communication skills
High level of analytical skill
Motivated, self-starter, proactive
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with and get work done effectively through others
Strong PC skills including MS Office and database tools
Previous service literature experience
Strong automotive background
Strong Skills using CAD Systems

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
Ability to understand and speak German language
