POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
• High School Graduate/GED
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or is a
graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide direct resident care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.
• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precaution guidelines at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living
environment
• Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment, Provides postmortem care
• Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.
• Provides skin care and observes residents’ skin when giving care and reports changes to
licensed nurse.
• Modifies own behavior in response to residents’ behaviors.
• Is aware of developmental tasks associated with the aging process.
• Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
• Provides nursing rehabilitation/restorative nursing services
