The Vehicle Process Engineering - Dispensing Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful integration and launch of joining equipment, within the Body Shop, while supporting non-new model activities. Additional responsibilities will include:
Ensuring dispensing equipment suppliers and integrators deliver equipment in conformance with North America Body in White dispensing specifications
Participate in throughout analysis reviews and present countermeasures for improvement
Work directly with Product Engineering, Material Suppliers, Equipment Suppliers and integrators for successful joining launch certification
Ensure joining Early Equipment Management (EEM) deliverables are reviewed, and approved, within Body in White joining specifications
Maintain and ensure joining dispensing certification is maintained throughout the launch process
Provide constant feedback to VPE Body in White management personnel pertaining to equipment operation, productivity and cost / quality improvements
Work directly with Engineers, Skilled Trades and cross-functional Managers to accomplish project improvement, cost reduction and timing estimates
Support plant program launches throughout Body in White joining operations
Conduct dispensing equipment buy-offs
Maintain and update certification documentation and specifications
Provide technical direction to suppliers and internal plant team members
Implement cost reduction projects and determine asset reusability
Support non-new model Body in White dispensing operations by ensuring throughput optimization, equipment supplier support and troubleshooting techniques
Support the Stellantis Production Way (SPW) Innovation and Early Equipment Management (EEM) pillars
Lead bi-weekly Dispensing CoC call-ins and ensure KPIs are recorded and maintained
Maintain and update dispensing equipment and certification specifications
Develop and maintain the Joining Tech V workbook and buy-off documentation
Implement and ensure read-across ideas and equipment improvements are communicated throughout North America Body in White dispensing operations
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience related to joining technologies (primarily dispensing equipment)
Knowledge of Nordson, Atlas Copco, IDS and additional dispensing equipment suppliers
Strong understanding of dispensing parameter development, equipment troubleshooting and operation requirements
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Travel domestic and international required
Self-motivated champion of change
Ability to work overtime and travel as required
