We are looking for a Design Release Engineer (DRE) for our seat complete group. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and release of seating systems and components. Additionally, the DRE ensures compliance with performance, cost, and timing objectives. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of seat components and processes and will interfacewith other commodities such as cockpit, trim, restraints, body, electrical, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Component Ownership:
Lead design and release of variousseating components as they relate to the final seat assembly and JIT delivery
Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, durability, and regulatory requirements
Engineering Execution:
Lead the design & development activities according to Stellantis design practices
Ensure seat system packages correctly and integrates seamlessly within the vehicle
Manage change control through CN systems
Supplier Interface:
Work closely with suppliers on design feasibility, resolving engineering issues, manufacturing constraints & quality initiatives
Support APQP, DFMEA, DVP&Rand validation activities
Program Delivery:
Track and meet program timing, cost, and quality targets
Resolve technical issues promptly and escalate risks as needed
Support launchand plantbuild events
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
A minimum of 2 years in automotive seating systems design, development & launch
Knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and material properties
Familiarity with automotive standards and validation processes
Proficiency in Teamcenter/NX and/or PLM/CATIA V5 are a plus
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and lightweighting strategies
