Position Summary:
Provides administrative support to the Office of Environmental Health & Safety/Emergency Management. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, preparing and distributing minutes, maintaining budget records, updating departmental web pages, and performing general office duties.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

Three years of qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Microsoft Word experience.

Customer service experience.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines accurately.

Ability to compose, proofread, and edit correspondence.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience authoring/editing web pages.
-
Experience developing and maintaining department budgets.
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Access, SAP, or similar systems.

Experience supervising student employees.
-
Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations, including OSHA, NRC, EPA, and NIOSH.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Coordinate meetings, training activities, and special events, including scheduling, agendas, materials, minutes, and attendance records.

Maintain complex budget records, track expenditures, reconcile accounts, prepare reports and projections, and make recommendations.

Maintain Environmental Health & Safety and Emergency Preparedness web pages.

Perform front-office duties, including assisting visitors, handling mail, maintaining files and department schedules.

Order office supplies/equipment and process payments.

Perform Motor Vehicle Record checks through the State of Michigan database.

Complete special projects for department staff.
-
Serve as backup to the Risk Management Executive Secretary.

Supervise student employees during field assignments.

Perform other duties as assigned.
